Our Story
Our journey began in 1990 with our first Dick Smith Electronics store in Innisfail, North Queensland. In September 1996, we relocated to Gladstone and established Gladstone Hi-Fi, beginning what has now become nearly three decades of serving the local community.
As our business grew, so did our store. In 2000, we moved to our current corner location at the corner of Tank and Auckland Streets, expanding into a spacious 160m² showroom with convenient off-street parking.
In 2004, we became a foundation member of Leading Edge Electronics, allowing us to offer an even wider range of trusted brands at competitive prices while maintaining the personalised service of an independent local retailer.
In 2007, we expanded into the adjoining premises to create a dedicated Hi-Fi and Home Theatre showroom. Featuring fully operational displays and a purpose-built theatre room, customers can experience premium home entertainment in a realistic home environment before making a purchase. This expansion also allowed us to showcase respected brands including Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins and many more.
As technology has evolved, so have we. We developed our own online store so customers can research products and shop whenever it suits them. Today, our website features more than 12,300 products, helping customers across Australia while still providing the personalised service we're known for locally.
More Than Just Electronics
Our greatest strength has always been our people. We pride ourselves on having knowledgeable, experienced staff who genuinely enjoy helping customers find the right solution. Whether you're setting up a home theatre, upgrading your computer, installing communications equipment or looking for the perfect gift, we're here to provide honest advice—not just sell products.

Over the years, our commitment to outstanding customer service has been recognised with numerous awards, including General Manager's Awards, Rising Star, Stockist of the Year, GCCI Business Award nominations and consistent 100% Mystery Shopper results.

We've proudly remained an independent local business by focusing on honest advice, quality products, competitive prices and personalised service that's becoming harder to find in the big chain stores.
To everyone who has supported us over the years, thank you. Your loyalty has allowed us to continue serving Gladstone through changing technology, evolving retail trends and an increasingly competitive marketplace.
We look forward to helping the Gladstone community for many years to come. If you're in the area, we'd love to welcome you to our showroom on the corner of Tank and Auckland Streets.
