About Us

We purchased our 1st Electronics store in Innisfail Nth Qld 1990 which was a Dick Smith Electronics Stockist and Car Audio store. In September 1996 we sold this business & purchases another electronics store in Tank St, Gladstone, which sold Jaycar Electronics & home theatre products. We renamed it Gladstone Hi-Fi and added the Dick Smith Electronics range within the first week of taking over. We quickly out grew our 76m2 store and in 2000, moved into our current location on the corner of Tank and Auckland Sts, Gladstone, with a 160m2 showroom and off street parking.

In 2004 we became a foundation member of Leading Edge Electronics, a buying group dedicated to supporting locally owned and operated independent retailers to provide consumers in regional Australia with well known brands at competitive prices, backed up by local service. This decision opened up the way to enable us to provide our customer's with a wider range of products and services tailored to suit our local customers needs and wants, which we weren’t able to offer previously.

In 2007 we expanded into the store next door, which gave us the floor space to create a dedicated Hi-Fi and Home theatre showroom.  It offers full working displays & a theatre room to offer you the complete look, feel and listening experience of being in a home environment. This gave us room to showcase reputable brands like Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins - just to name a few and are still the only Audio & Visual specialists in central Qld. 

This also allowed us to have the room to expand our consumer electronic range of products even further and became authorised stockists for Leading Edge Computers, Minelab metal detectors, Apple, DJI, GoPro, GME etc.  We still don't have enough room to keep everything, so we do special orders if customers need something different.

During this time we created our own website to help customers research products and shop after hours, reaching customers from all over Australia including Tasmania, WA and NT..  And while it doesn't have our entire product range yet, it does have most of the 6300+ product lines we stock.

We regularly attend training sessions with our suppliers which is necessary to stay aligned with the new technologies constantly evolving so customers can be assured they're getting the best advice and service possible.

Over the years we have won several awards like the General Manager’s, Rising Star, Stockist of The Year, 100% in the Mystery shopper surveys, and have been nominated for awards in GCCI business awards as a result of our dedication to our business and customers.

The wide range of products offered covers Home Theatre, Electronics, Computers, Entertainment, Communications, Gift, Toys, Camping & hobbies like Metal Detecting and 3D printing. We listen to our customers needs and deliver solutions to fit their lifestyle and budget.
