This 5 pin XLR UTP transmitter sends signals to compatible Redback UTP solutions receivers. It converts a balanced XLR signal with PTT to an RJ45 connection suitable for transmission over Cat5/6 UTP cabling. The input level is DIP switch selectable, and the input volume is screwdriver adjusted via the trimpot on the front of the unit. The unit is powered from 24V DC, which can be connected to the DC socket on the rear, or it can be supplied through the Cat5/6 cabling from other compatible Redback products (see connection matrix).
The Redback A4952 can be connected to compatible Redback products such as the A4954. These units send the balanced signal and push-to-talk (PTT) to the A4954 ensuring seamless operation for paging microphones (PTT connects to pins 4 and 5 of the XLR socket).
